About the Speakers
Aspen Brinton, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of World Studies at VCU, and a political theorist. Her research interests include democratic theory, dissident movements, East-Central Europe, phenomenology, and the intellectual history of civil society and free speech.
Joshua Eckhardt, Ph.D. is a Professor of English at VCU. He is the author of Religion Around John Donne (Penn State University Press, 2019) which received the John Donne Society Award for Distinguished Publication.
