The Humanities Research Center's Spirituality, Care, and Culture Lab invite you to join us for an event with Dr. Melissa Bradner, a family medicine doctor with VCU Health. We will show clips selected by Dr. Bradner from a dramatization of the Russian playwright Anton Chekov's Uncle Vayna, then discuss how interpretations of the play might speak to issues of knowledge and care at the heart of medicine today. Some familiarity with Chekov's play is welcome, but not necessary to attend. Overall, the session will highlight how literature might enable and sustain care work in the medical profession. Light meal options will be available.
