Call for Applications: Health Humanities Curriculum Development Undergraduate and Graduate Student Fellows (2024–2025)

Deadline: April 19, 2024, 5:00 p.m.

The VCU Humanities Research Center Health Humanities Lab is sponsoring Health Humanities Curriculum Development Fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in the creation of a no-cost openly accessible textbook for the introductory course to the new VCU undergraduate Health Humanities minor.

As an inaugural fellow, you will participate in meetings to design the interdisciplinary curriculum and to create the no-cost openly accessible introductory textbook for the Health Humanities minor.

Your name will be included as one of the co-authors of the textbook.

Start date: August 2023. Work on the project will run through December 2023.

The collaborators will include interprofessional health science students and faculty, humanities graduate and undergraduate students, and humanities professors.

There will likely be one Zoom meeting per month related to the curricular development.

All those interested please submit a resume/CV and a brief statement (not more than 500 words) explaining why you think that a Health Humanities minor is important for VCU undergraduates and what you would want an introduction to the minor to address. We especially welcome applications from students from communities historically excluded from academic research, including students from historically minoritized racial and ethnic groups, who identify as LGBTQIA+, and/or who are the first generation in their family to attend college.
