Teaching Language Online: A Guide for Designing, Developing, and Delivering Online, Blended, and Flipped Language Courses

4:00 p.m. (virtual event)

Based on research in instructional design and universal design for learning, computer-assisted language learning, and second language acquisition (SLA), Murphy-Judy’s co-authored book covers many ways of creating and delivering language courses, as well as humanities courses in general. The speakers for this event, Kathryn Murphy-Judy, Ph.D., VCU, and Betsy Starnes, of Virtual Virginia, will focus on learners' growth in interpretive, interpersonal and presentational modes of communication. They will discuss strategies for design, delivery and teaching in an online environment, whether the courses are entirely online, emergency remote teaching, blended or hybrid, flipped or simply technology-enhanced.
